b. CarXie is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Information.
c. CarXie is committed to keeping the trust you have in us by your use of CarXie.
e. The term "us" or "we" refers to the owner of the CarXie app, Dukan George Limited, a private limited company, founded in the Republic of Nigeria.
4. AGE RESTRICTION
a. CarXie transportation services are not directed to infants (that is children under 18).
b. We do not knowingly collect information from infants.
a. Your information is only disclosed to drivers who has confirmed your ride; in this situation, the driver will see the name, phone number and location information of the Rider. Drivers also see Riders’ information in order to contact the Rider if something was left behind in the vehicle. This is also paramount for drivers to resolve any issues associated with service provided.
6. INFORMATION COLLECTED
a. User Profile- name, phone number, email, password, residential address, payment or banking information (including bank verification number (optional), payment verification information).
b. Identification data of the device on which CarXie app has been installed.
c. Time, destination and location of the Rider.
d. We may collect information that you submit when you contact CarXie customer support, provide ratings or compliments for other users.
e. CarXie may collect location information when the CarXie app is running in the foreground. In some situation CarXie may also collect this information when the CarXie app is running in the background of your device if this collection is enabled through your app settings or device permissions.
7. REASONS FOR COLLECTING INFORMATION
a. We collect information to enhance the security and safety of our services and CarXie Riders.
b. We collect transaction information related to our services or services rendered to you (amount charged, distance traveled, date and time the service was provided, amount charged, distance traveled, and payment method).
c. Riders’ payment information is collected in order to process payment on behalf of drivers.
d. We collect information for the efficiency of our customer support.
e. We display location information, email and phone numbers of Riders to drivers in order to enable efficient pick -up.
f. We collect and process information for the purpose of connecting Riders with drivers to help them move around cities more efficiently.
g. We collect information for us to improve our services to you.
h. Riders’ contact information would be used to communicate with them where necessary.
i. Information collected are also used to resolve disputes where necessary.
j. Information on how you interact with our service is collected.
k. To verify the information that you provide with third parties
l. We collect information of your location when CarXie app is running in order to enable you or third party track your ride.
8. SHARING OF INFORMATION
We may share Riders’ information with a third party in the following situations:
a. Where Riders’ consent is given.
b. For legal reasons or in the event of disputes.
c. CarXie service providers (Payment processors and facilitators, partners etc.)
9. LEGAL BASIS
a. Information may be processed on the ground of legitimate interest in investigating and detecting fraudulent payments.
b. The information we collect may be used to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to your use of CarXie services, or as otherwise allowed by applicable law, or as requested by regulators, government entities, and official inquiries.
c. Information is processed for the performance of the contract concluded with the driver. The prerequisite for the use of the CarXie services is the processing of Riders’ identification and location data.
10. SECURITY AND ACCESS
a. Screening drivers prior to enabling their use of our services and at subsequent intervals, including through reviews of background checks where permitted by law, to prevent use of our services by unsafe drivers.
b. Any information collected in the course of providing services is transferred to and stored in the data centers of Godaddy VPS, which are located in North America. Only authorised employees of Dukan George Limited and partners have access to the personal data and they may access the data only for the purpose of resolving issues associated with the use of the services (including disputes regarding transportation services).
c. Dukan George Limited and partners can access personal data to the extent necessary to provide customer support in the respective country.
Personal information of Riders’ can be updated by the Rider through CarXie app.
12. RETENTION OF INFORMATION
a. Information can be viewed and corrected in CarXie Rider Portal.
b. Your information will be stored as long as you have an active Rider's account. If your account will be closed the information will be deleted.
c. Data necessary for accounting purposes shall be stored for 7 years.
d. Riders’ journey history data will be stored for 3 years.
e. Riders’ financial information on services provided by CarXie will be stored for 3 years.
f. In the event of suspicions of an administrational or criminal offence, fraud or false information, the data shall be stored for 10 years.
g. In the event of disputes, the data shall be retained until the claim is satisfied or the expiry date of such claims.
h. Uninstallation of CarXie app from your mobile app does not automatically delete Riders’ information from CarXie.
